We wanted to get away for a couple of nights for our 44th wedding anniversary so selected the Delta Grand Okanagan Hotel because of its location and upscale ambience. We selected a premium room and were upgraded to a suite with a two-person jacuzzi. My wife, who had never liked a jacuzzi before, loved it, loved the room and we will be returning for our 45th anniversary in 2010! To top it all off, the management made our anniversary special with a plate of chocolate strawberries and a half bottle of wine. Fantastic. Highly recommended!

Location
Not the most reasonably-priced hotel in the area but facilities were a cut above which justified the extra cost. We drove in so can't comment on transportation options. Proximity to local shopping and restaurants is great but would appreciate if the concierge was a much more informed on what area restaurants offered.

Service
We were treated very well by the booking staff (telephone booking) and check-in staff. During our stay the staff was very courteous and helpful. I was miffed that my e-mail of thanks to the manager after we returned home did not even rate an acknowledgement.

Gastronomy
We ate in the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed our meal which was well served, attractively plated and wonderful flavours. The menu is limited but adequate except for my wife who likes chicken and does not eat seafood or unusual accompaniments. There was one chicken dish on the menu and, while she was nervous about ordering it, it came with a side that she did not enjoy even though the chicken itself was good.

Room didn't have much of a view but that was OK as we didn't spend that much time there except in the evening. However, the room itself was very comfortable. The only problem we had was that the bed was too high for my wife to get into and we had to ask for a step to assist her. You should have facilities available for people like my wife who is short to begin with, but cannot climb up onto a mattress that is chest high! That means a stool with at least two steps.
Cleanliness (i.e. bathroom, cleaning regularity, bed sheets, etc.)
This hotel offers a good choice of accommodations at any time of the year for any reason. Doiwntown Kelowna shopping area is just a couple of blocks away, as are good restaurants. We are not disco or pub people so are not even aware of what is available.
